Ease of Use
The Halcyon Audit Journal Monitor was developed, and continues to be developed,
by a team of ex-IT Managers. We know only too well that I.T. personnel work in a
busy department and very often do not have time to read through manuals to find
out how a product works. Halcyon Software screens are, in the main, selfexplanatory,
so a minimal amount of manual reading is required.
Flexibility
Many user-definable features have been incorporated into the Halcyon Audit
Journal Monitor to ensure optimum flexibility. For example, the software can
either be run in a stand-alone environment or, if the Halcyon Network Manager is
installed, it can route alerts to a central management console on another AS/400
or to the PC based Enterprise Console. If Halcyon Message Communicator is
installed, alerts can be sent to a mobile phone or pager.
Comprehensive Features
The Halcyon Audit Journal Monitor's advanced design incorporates all the features
you would expect from a top class product as well as many unique features.
Here is a brief summary of features:
- Monitors for the arrival of many types of audit journal entries in the system
audit journal.
- Comprehensive journal filters can be set up to ignore unimportant entries
whilst quickly alerting you to important entries that you need to be aware of.
- An unlimited number of actions can be performed in any pre-defined sequence
when your selected journal entries are received by the system.
- Escalating actions can be defined for recurring entries.
- Actions include executing commands, calling programs, sending a pager
message to a pager or telephone, etc.
- Caters for working shift patterns and duty rotas
- Security journal audit reports can be generated and output to a spooled file or
a stream file in CSV format which can then be loaded into a spreadsheet.
