Network Server Suite
Features
Enterprise Console
View alerts generated by any of the Monitors on a single graphical PC console. Replies can be given to inquiry messages and alerts closed from the central console. Colour coded options are available to identify different types of alert and messages from different systems.
Central Configuration Console
Define logs, filters and actions for each managed server. Any changes made to the settings for each system are automatically propagated to the servers. Manage the status of the monitors on each server and view the associated alert logs. The Central Configuration Manager also controls licensing for all connected servers and any SNMP manager.
Instant Alert
Sends out text (SMS) messages from either the Server Manager or the Enterprise Console to mobile phones, pagers or via email. For ultimate flexibility, Escalation Lists, Broadcast Groups, Schedules and Rotas can be set up to ensure messages are sent to the appropriate on-call personnel. A message log is provided to monitor the status of messages.
HTTP / Website Monitoring
Checks the operation of HTTP servers by connecting to them and requesting a URL. Alerts are raised if the connection fails or invalid page data is returned. Pages can be checked for contents (include/exclude) and pages requiring authentification and proxy servers are also supported.
SNMP Manager
Receives traps from 'nodes' such as hubs, routers, switches etc. and feeds them into the Enterprise Server as alerts. Polls connected devices on a regular basis and reports status to the Enterprise Server. Also allows auto-discovery of network devices (through the Device Manager) and builds a list of static devices to monitor.
Disk Space Monitor
Checks the size of logical drives installed on the system. An alert is raised if the utilization exceeds a user-defined threshold.
CPU Usage Monitor
Monitors CPU percentage usage (peaks and troughs). An alert is raised when the sustained utilization exceeds or falls below a user-definable threshold.
Memory Usage Monitor
Checks the memory usage (physical and page file) and raises an alert dependent upon a user-defined threshold.
Service Monitor
Checks the status of selected services and triggers actions if an incorrect status is found. Actions include starting, stopping, pausing and resuming services.
File and Folder Monitor
Checks for changes in selected folders and/or files. For example, when a new file is created in a folder, or when the size of a file changes. This is useful for tracking the creation of files sent via FTP, and also ensuring critical files are not deleted. In addition, it can be used to check the date and time stamps of virus .dat files to see if your anti-virus software is up to date.
Event Log Monitor
Monitors Windows® Event Logs - including the System log, Security Log and Application Event Log. Comprehensive filtering options allow routine messages to be ignored and important messages to be acted upon immediately.
Generic Performance Monitor
Checks system performance (CPU, memory, disk) and specified Windows® performance counters. Allows administrators/users to select performance indicators to monitor and set-up actions dependent upon user-defined thresholds and check that specified Windows® performance counters are within user-defined ranges.
FTP Monitor
Checks the operation of FTP servers by connecting to them and issuing a command. An alert is raised if the connection fails or if an invalid response is received to the command.
NNTP Monitor
Checks operation of NNTP (news) servers by connecting to them and issuing a command. An alert is raised if the connection fails or if an invalid response is received to the command.
Ping Monitor
Checks the status of remote devices by sending an ICMP ping. An alert can raised if the success percentage falls below a pre-defined threshold.
POP3 Monitoring
Checks the operation of POP3 servers by connecting to them and issuing a command. An alert is raised if the connection fails or if an invalid response is received to the command.
SMTP Monitoring
Checks the operation of SMTP (mail) servers by connecting to them and issuing a command. An alert is raised if the connection fails or if an invalid response is received to the command.
Telnet Monitor
Checks the operation of Telnet servers by connecting to them and optionally issuing a command. An alert is raised if the connection fails or if an invalid response is received to the command. |
