The Halcyon Message Manager will pay for itself over and over again, whether it is
by alerting you to impending disaster, such as suspension of disk mirroring or
imminent disk failure, or by informing you that a time-critical job has not yet
finished.
Alternatively, you can teach the Halcyon Message Manager how to react to
various situations, even complex ones, and it will emulate precisely the actions of
a very experienced operator.
What the Halcyon Message Manager can do for you
- Prevent disaster by monitoring system critical messages and alerting
appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
- Reduce unscheduled computer downtime by monitoring for early-warning
messages.
- Minimize processor halts due to unanswered inquiry messages which, in turn,
holds up other jobs causing delay and end-user frustration.
- System critical information messages often go unnoticed on a busy system. They quickly disappear from the operator's screen amongst other routine
messages, or their significance can be lost on an inexperienced operator. Yet
the effect of missing or ignoring a system critical could prove disastrous for
you, your department and your company.
- Erroneous message replies can be just as damaging. Consider the effect of
replying with a "C" (Cancel) to a "File is full" message, rather than with an "I"
(Increment). In a busy department human errors of this kind are all too
common.
Ease of Use
The Halcyon Message Manager was developed, and continues to be developed, by
a team of ex-IT Managers. We know only too well that I.T. personnel work in a
busy department and very often do not have time to read through manuals to find
out how a product works. Halcyon Software screens are, in the main, selfexplanatory,
so a minimal amount of manual reading is required. |
