System Event Manager
Introduction
Not all system events generate system messages so this is a very useful partner to the Halcyon Message Manager.
Many system events that fall into this category can still slow down processing or even halt processing – a program sitting in a *LCKW (Lock Wait) status, for example, will not generate a system message, however processing can be held up for several hours if this occurs and no-one happens to notice.
The Halcyon System Event Manager has 8 individual monitors which all monitor specific areas where system events might go unnoticed. This product is a “must have” for those departments that carry out manual checklists on a daily or twice-daily basis. Many, if not all, of these manual checks can be eliminated by using the Halcyon System Event Manager.

We are alerted by the System Event Manager to issues which are not otherwise easily visible, such as locks on records, too many jobs accumulating on a job queue or jobs taking too long to finish.
We are now more proactive than reactive and our operators enjoy more freedom during off-site hours.
