Record & Playback

Introduction

Use the Halcyon Record and Playback for the System i™ (iSeries™, AS/400™) when jobs are either run interactively, or interactive screens have to be processed before a job can be submitted to the job queue. It can also be used to perform "check list" tasks automatically.

Record any sequence of keys, including the Enter key and Function keys, and saves them as a script.

Scripts can be edited at any time to add additional functionality, cater for variables and include intelligent logic. For example, all spool files for user 'Doug' can be deleted without anybody in attendance.

Scripts can also be played back either interactively, by executing a call, or they can be submitted to a job queue.
