Inactivity Manager

Introduction

Inactivity Manager closes a system security loophole and helps to prevent unauthorized users tampering with company data.

These days, users are called upon to do more tasks with greater speed and very often they get called away from their screens at short notice. Others simply forget to sign off when going to lunch or taking a coffee break.

As a consequence, your users are leaving the door wide open to potential security breaches and your systems are at risk from unauthorized data access, or worse, data sabotage.

Features

Automatically monitor to ensure that screens are not left signed-on for long periods without activity.
Monitoring can be set for any length of inactivity from 1 minute upwards. Variable options allow different users, programs or jobs to be monitored for different lengths of inactivity.
Exceptions can be made so that certain users, jobs or screens can be exempted from the Inactivity Manager.
Signed-on sessions, without activity, can be automatically disconnected or ended after a certain period of time.
Automatic screen savers can be activated - even on dumb terminals - if users leave their screens signed on.
Additional passwords, held in an encrypted file on the system, can be defined to unlock the screen saver to resume normal working.
Interfaces with the Halcyon Message Communicator to allow notification of security breaches out of hours by email or by sending text messages to mobile phones or pagers.
