Halcyon Software's open day attracts world expert on IT security

Open day Seminar announced for 1st February 2007
Systems management software provider, Halcyon Software, today announced it is to hold an open day seminar at its new Peterborough offices on 1st February 2007, allowing existing clients, prospective customers and business partners to view its new premises. The event has attracted an award-winning American speaker, Carol Woodbury, formerly of IBM Rochester USA and now President of SkyView Partners Inc. of Seattle.
Woodbury is the acknowledged, world expert on security for IBM’s midrange computer system, the “System i” and will deliver a talk entitled “The Top Ten Security Threats Facing IT Today.”
Halcyon also celebrates more than 10 years in business and will be showcasing their new systems management tools for IBM Midrange and Windows platforms.
Lorraine Cousins, Managing Director of Halcyon Software, comments, “We are very pleased that Carol Woodbury has agreed to visit Halcyon on our special day to provide our clients with the best advice on how to protect business data and their company from security threats. The new move to larger premises also coincides with our 10th anniversary in business as Halcyon Software. The seminar will be held at the Peterborough Marriott Hotel, and 33 companies have already registered for the event including some well recognised names such as David Wilson Homes, Raleigh, Anglian Windows, Wilkinson’s Retail Group and Budget Insurance. Lunch will be provided at Halcyon’s new offices on the Minerva Business Park, giving all attendees the opportunity to tour the new premises following Halcyon’s recent expansion.
Carol Woodbury, as former Chief Security Architect for OS/400 at IBM in the US, will also be holding a ‘Get a Grip on Security Compliance’ workshop which will include many practical hints and tips on security compliance; including running a risk assessment, setting up a compliance policy and maintaining it, and how to keep the auditors happy.
Head of Technical Services at Halcyon, Donnie MacColl will be showcasing Halcyon’s Systems Management solutions, including a range of security monitoring tools that provide real time alerting as well as new systems management modules including Disk Space Manager and Network Server Suite.

All attendees will receive a DVD copy of Carol Woodbury’s Security Compliance Seminar filmed at IBM Bedfont Lakes in 2006, as well as a copy of her latest publication “The Security Compliance Handbook”. |
