Halcyon Software grows with new offices, technologies, business partners and customers

Offers Multi-Platform Systems Manage Solutions to Manage Critical Business Processes and Minimize Operational Costs

Halcyon Software Inc., a global leader in systems management software, today announced expanded offices in Philadelphia, PA, extension of its advanced systems management software portfolio including two new technologies. Halcyon has also added two new business partners and has gained a major new customer as a result of its ongoing strategy to tailor software solutions to address current market and business challenges.  Halcyon’s solutions simplify the management of critical business processes across complex IT environments, keeping operational costs to a minimum and delivering return on investment.    

For more than 20 years, Halcyon Software’s multi-platform systems management software has helped organizations proactively monitor, manage, and automate mission-critical systems and business processes. Supporting the IBM Power Systems technology with native software for IBM i, AIX as well as Windows and Linux platforms, Halcyon Software plays a vital role in reducing the complexity of systems management and automation allowing organizations to do more with less resource.

Halcyon’s system management solutions free up valuable resources time and minimize the risk of human error.   Message Management Suite v3.0, for the IBM i platform is an entry-level automation and monitoring software package which can automate an organization’s response to a given situation while monitoring for application error messages and system critical messages, while the Network Server Suite v6.0, is the latest solution for natively monitoring the Windows and AIX platforms for the System x and System p range of servers. This is designed to enable outsourcers and systems operators of all levels to deliver a seamless IT operation without increasing headcount by centralizing the monitoring and management of all network servers and devices.

Halcyon has also added two strategic partners to help their customer’s IT departments reduce operating costs and increase efficiency.

SunGard Public Sector provides software and consulting solutions designed to meet the specialized needs of city and county governments, public safety and justice agencies, school districts, not-for-profit organizations, and state and central government. Halcyon’s Operations Center and Network Server Suite will support SunGard Public Sector’s growing customer base and optimize the use of scarce technical resources by monitoring, managing and automating hardware and software management.  These include hundreds of alerts from IBM iSeries and Windows® platforms with advanced warning given on issues to increase the already high levels of technical and customer services offered by SunGard Public Sector.

Network Services Plus, Inc (NSPI) is a leading provider of technology services to enhance the automated operations behind NSPI’s data center and managed service offerings supporting IBM iSeries customers.  NSPI will deliver Halcyon’s System Operations Suite and Operations Center to provide message management, reporting management and job scheduling, to enterprise organizations hard hit by recent economic and resource challenges.

A prerequisite to Halcyon’s success is its customer-oriented approach to creating value propositions that cut costs and demonstrate value back into organizations ensuring vital systems, core applications and services are always available.  The City of Corpus Christi, TX’s MIS (Municipal Information Systems) Department purchased Halcyon’s Network Server Suite, a fully integrated solution that manages all network servers and devices, from a single console, as well as Halcyon’s Operations Center, an enterprise console for IBM iSeries centralized monitoring and management, to streamline their department.  Now with the Halcyon solutions, the City of Corpus Christi’s MIS department has been able to eliminate two archiving products, they have decreased the number of calls to their help desk and the department operates more efficiently.
