Halcyon Software release Spooled File Manager V6.0

Systems management software provider, Halcyon Software, today announces the launch of Spooled File Manager v 6.0 in what amounts to a major upgrade of one of its key software solutions.
Spooled File Manager v 6.0 is a comprehensive spooled file distribution and archiving tool which offers real-time spooled file monitoring and filtering. It automatically performs actions on spooled files without any need for program changes, eg automatically emailing the summary page of a report.
Significantly, Spooled File Manager v 6.0 has the functionality to run scripts over reports, this will split the spooled files into multiple reports, merge multiple reports into one, extract specific information from spooled files to which calculations can then be applied and export extracted and manipulated information from spools to Excel.
Key enhancements include the ability to archive spooled files containing barcodes and images, this is of particular benefit to companies which produce invoices on their System I allowing for the reprinting of non-text archived spooled files in their original form.
In addition users are now able to store spooled files in PDF format natively on the iSeries, this is as a result of a specific request from banking customers. This allows organizations to mitigate the security risk presented by saving a spooled file via a PC where the details within it could be manipulated.
Halcyon Software has included dedicated auditing functionality within Spooled File Manager v 6.0, enabling users to identify and track changes and deletions of spooled files. Also Halcyon has recognized that its customers’ systems are used ever more intensively and has increased spooled size limits in response.
Furthermore, a large number of additional options have been incorporated into the ‘Output Queue’ screens, including send, change, delete, hold and release with a view to make the Halcyon Spooled Manager a one stop shop for all actions a user might want to take against a spooled file.

Spooled File Manager v 6.0 is available immediately, either on its own or as part of Halcyon Operations Center, and pricing starts from £1,400*.
